It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our Joe. He was the beloved companion and best friend of LeeAnn Perri. Joe adored his children and leaves behind Chrissy Hopkins, Robert Delayer, Bobbi-Lynne Delayer of British Columbia and Adam Delayer (Katie, mother Linda) of Bradford, Ontario. Joe was a loving step dad to Daniel Perri, Stephanie Perri and Grant Gunn. Joe was the son of the late Doug and Marion Delayer and only brother to Dawn, Lynne, Laura, Jane, Joan, Joy and Janet. Joe’s family would like to thank Ken Lambert, Bob Kelly, Kristin Matuszyk and Frank Kennedy for their many visits to Joe, especially for the coffee and beef sandwiches. Sincere thanks, gratitude and respect to Dr. Parsons and Dr. Jadavji. Joe’s family would like to acknowledge the care Joe received while a patient of 3B at the SAH. Everyone – RN’s, RPNs, PSWs, housekeeping staff and food services staff treated Joe with kindness, respect and dignity. If we listed the names of the people we would like to spotlight, we’d surely miss someone. Please know that your hard work, compassion and kindness was not unnoticed. Cremation has taken place. At Joe’s request, there was no funeral service. Arrangements entrusted to O’Sullivan Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 215 St. James St, 705-759-8456. In keeping with Joe’s love of animals, especially Max, donations to the Sault Ste. Marie Humane Society is fitting.
