She excelled in the workplace but no more so as in her title of Domestic Engineer-First Class. She was predeceased by her mother, Anna Spidans, siblings, Albert and John Vitols and Zigrida Richardella. Left to honour her memory are her immediate family, husband Edmond, James (Denise) of Hart Houston Texas, Tracy (Leonard) Salminen of Sudbury, ON and Joseph Hart (Ronda) of Dryden, ON. Step children Murray Corbett of Toronto, Cheryl Roffe (Steve) of Lindsay, ON and Scott Corbett (Lisa) of North Bay, ON. She also leaves behind her brother in law, Lenny Richardella and niece, Kim Schiffbauer of Denver Colorado and niece, Desiree Burns (William) of Blair, Nebraska. Erika was a proud grandmother and great grandmother to 10 grandchildren. Christopher Hart (Diane), Steven Hart, Kalei McClellan (Andrew), Rachel Hart, Emilie & Mathieu Corbett, Jordyn & Mackenzie Roffe, Claire & Spencer Corbett and 3 great grandchildren, Dallas & Poppy Hart and Leo Eric McClellan. Retirement with Ed took her to their summer home at Sandstone Lake, winter home in Yuma, Arizona and road trips throughout the Continental United States. Her last adventure took Erika and Ed to Sault Ste. Marie and travel adventures with good friends, Bud & Hazel on Caribbean cruises, road trips to Florida, Tennessee, Texas and Newfoundland. There will be no funeral as per Erika’s wishes. Cremation has taken place. The interment of ashes and Celebration of Life will be held in Thunder Bay this summer. In lieu of flowers, donations to ARCH or to the charity of your choice (payable by cheque) would be appreciated. The family would like to thank the entire staff and volunteers at ARCH for the care and compassion shown to Erika and family during her time there. Arrangements entrusted to O’Sullivan Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 215 St. James St, 705-759-8456.

“To know Erika was to love her. She was the thread that bound our lives, our friends and blended family together.
